Amazon has set the bar for fast shipping and weekend delivery too. Fedex is now getting into the 7-day delivery fray and the net benefit will be that we can all receive items sooner, and even on the weekends.

Fedex did not do so well recently as Amazon was prohibiting sellers from using the shipper due to fierce competition between Amazon’s home grown last mile shipping and Fedex. UPS may be the short term net beneficiary, though Fedex will improve again by 2021 according to CEO Fred Smith.

Ecommerce companies continue to use all the available shipping options including Canada Post, USPS, Fedex, UPS, DHL, CanPar and others.
